2026: A very wet summer interspersed with lots of hot days and thankfully keeping everything green.
We get the smoke from fires burning out of control in other places. It reminds us how fortunate we are to have the rain. Make the most of it as next year could be our turn.
It has made hay making tenuous and although the volume is there, getting it baled dry has farmers looking at the weather forecast many times a day.

Well it’s 2026 and we got rain in some places of Alberta and some got frozen rain and tornado warnings of which some came true. Heavy winds and lightning storms I have not seen for a while set of even more fires in the provinces around us.
Sheep happy lots of grass and last week working sheep, I glanced down to see zillions of baby grasshoppers. Cute they were not. I wondered how the sheep felt sharing the grazing with them but guess they are just recycled grass. It was great to see such well fed sheep and lambs. The rams from last year are extremely fit and starting to do the ram thing. You push me than I push you!! Farmers are busy trying to gauge the weather and make a few bales before rain comes again. Can’t be too picky this year and hopefully we get some barley into the bin as well.
